+ # Bitcoin Roots v30.3-roots.1
2
+
3
+ Bitcoin Roots v30.3-roots.1 is based directly on the official Bitcoin Core
4
+ v30.3 release (`49faec4f87f5cd19c88db01a82e5c68b087c8227`). It carries the
5
+ reviewed Roots semantic series onto that base, preserving the Core 30.3
6
+ implementation and fixes. Bitcoin Knots `29.3.knots20260507` describes
7
+ historical provenance for selected policy features; it is not the upstream
8
+ base or a release dependency.
9
+
10
+ Roots remains compatible with Bitcoin Core consensus and does not enforce
11
+ RDTS/BIP110. Relay, mempool and mining-template restrictions remain local and
12
+ configurable; a consensus-valid block remains acceptable even when its
13
+ transactions are rejected by local policy.
14
+
15
+ ## Preserved and adapted Roots behavior
16
+
17
+ - Conservative policy controls, including the 83-byte default data-carrier
18
+ script limit, configurable carrier cost, disabled bare-pubkey/bare-multisig
19
+ relay by default, dynamic dust controls and priority mining. The default
20
+ minimum relay fee remains 1000 sat/kvB. Consult built daemon help for the
21
+ complete configuration and defaults.
22
+ - Priority mining accounts for ancestors already selected in the priority
23
+ phase before evaluating fee-paying descendants. The regression coverage
24
+ includes low-fee one/two-parent packages and consensus-valid block acceptance.
25
+ - `getmempoolinfo.fullrbf` reports the configured replacement policy. Full RBF
26
+ remains the default; opt-in mode retains the Core TRUC/v3 qualification.
27
+ - Guarded private-key sweep through `sweepprivkeys` and the GUI, together with
28
+ advanced coin-control facts and an explicit per-send RBF choice. These tools
29
+ were already available on the published 29.4 line, including
30
+ v29.4-roots.4; the 30.3 release adapts and preserves them.
31
+ - Sweep scans confirmed P2PKH outputs and, for compressed WIF keys, native and
32
+ wrapped P2WPKH. Taproot and other script forms are not scanned. Destinations
33
+ must be spendable by the selected wallet. Keys are not imported or saved;
34
+ keep an independent backup until confirmation. Preview cancellation and
35
+ wallet updates invalidate transient GUI state; submission must finish once
36
+ its final broadcast authorization boundary is crossed.
37
+ - Peer-health details in the existing GUI Peers tab, bounded peer/network
38
+ resources, `getmempoolstats`, monotonic `uptime`, and Roots branding remain
39
+ available. No Network Watch, privacy score or anonymity guarantee is added.
40
+
41
+ ## Core 30.3 wallet and build compatibility
42
+
43
+ The port uses Core 30.3 descriptor wallets and SQLite. It does not restore a
44
+ Berkeley DB build option; follow Core's supported legacy-wallet migration
45
+ instructions before using descriptor-wallet tools. Core's native IPC and
46
+ kernel/chainstate interfaces are retained. Qt 6 is the default GUI dependency,
47
+ with optional Qt 5 support when configured.
48
+
49
+ The release machinery targets Linux x86_64/aarch64, macOS x86_64/arm64 and
50
+ Windows x86_64 packages with enabled wallet and GUI support. Source and package
51
+ validation is tied to the canonical `roots/30.3` release tip, rather than a
52
+ promotion commit on `main`.
53
+
54
+ The portable patch applies directly to official Core v30.3 with
55
+ `git am -3 --keep-cr <bitcoin-roots-30.3-roots.1.patch>`. It deliberately
56
+ excludes `.github/**`; every other product path must match the release tag.
57
+ The manifest uses SHA512. Checksum signatures, when supplied, are separate
58
+ from Git-tag and platform-code signing; use the final release's stated signing
59
+ status and verified asset inventory.
